Veterans Golf
NSW Veterans Golf Association
We are an internal club of Club Taree and are affiliated with the NSW Veteran Golfers
Association. Our membership is open to any golfers provided they are over 55 and are a member of
the golf club. Handicaps are no problem as Mike Hotchkiss will view your swing and will handicap you.
Regular revisions are carried out.
Our members number about 70. The majority play the club house side twice for their 18 holes and other
are content with 9 holes.
We hit off between 7:15am and 7:45am on Mondays. Cost is nominal for competition and green fees and we
also hold a $2 raffle. We usually complete golf and presentation by 12:45pm.
On the 1st Monday of each month we play the full course which keeps our NSW Golf Association Handicaps
current. This event is usually followed by a free barbecue. If possible we arrange bus transport for
away games.
In addition, each of the 6 Vets clubs in our district conduct their own Open Day.
From October (2010), together with Forster Vets and Tallwoods Vets, we will host the Great
Lakes/Manning Valley VGA Week of golf. Our allocated day is the Tuesday. Full details are available
on the VGA web site.
Vets enjoy good fellowship and social golf with no pressure. We have our own handicaps for the times
we play the home 9 twice.
The only criteria for Vets Golf is that you are a member of a golf club affiliated with the NSW Golf
Association and over 55 years of age.
